July 2018 – Hip Slate Roof By Pauls Plastering In Llanelli
At the beginning of the month, Pauls Plastering and Damproofing completed a rendering job in Llanelli.
Firstly we had to assemble our scaffolding to reach the top of the property. We then hacked off the existing render so that the bare brick was revealed.
A scratch coat was applied to the bare brick. Following this, the customer wanted a new roof over a bay window, we started to construct a new hip slate roof over the bay window.
Slate was used to match the property and then tiles were laid with cement to close off any water. We fitted new pvc fascia boards, guttering and downpipes to the new bay window.
A top coat of smooth (stocco) render was then applied to the front of the property. The property now looks incredible and has a perfect water sealed hip slate roof over the bay window.

15th May 2018 – Pauls Plastering Exterior Render Job In Sandy Rd, Llanelli
Pauls Plastering and Damproofing successfully completed a rendering job in Sandy Rd, Llanelli in May 2018.
Some of the render had blown with an ingress of water. To start we removed the old render by hacking off all the blown render to reveal bare brick.
We removed the window lintel and used acroprops to support the upper brickwork so that we could remove the corroded concrete lintel.
We fitted new lintels and then fixed the coin work around the front door. We created and styled a new number detail.
The customer chose to have yellow dash, so we pebbled dash the property and to complete the job, we also fitted new facias, gutters and downpipes.

Pauls Plastering and Damproofing were working on a property which had a lot of condensation issues. We are pleased to say that we have successfully resolved all condensation issues that this family experienced.
There was single brickwork in the downstairs toilet, which was giving severe condensation.
Pauls Plastering and Damproofing insulated the internal walls, re-boarded the bathroom and skimmed to finish.

Pauls Plastering and Damproofing were recently involved in a refurbishment of a property in Llanelli. The kitchen dining room wall was taken down to make it an open plan kitchen diner.
We also replaced the bathroom suite. To save the customer money and time, we reboarded all ceilings and skimmed over the old and tired plasterwork with fresh plaster in all 3 bedrooms, hall, landing, stairs and lounge.
We laid a created a self-leveling floor for the customer as the floor was on different levels, making it difficult to lay laminate floors. By the time we finished the customer was able to lay new laminate flooring without it kicking up as the floor was level.
To finish the living room, the client wanted the fireplace blocked off, we blocked off the existing fireplace and boarded and skimmed.

Damproofing In Bury Port By Pauls Plastering April 2018
April 2018 – Damproofing in Bury Port
Pauls Plastering and Damproofing were working on a property in Burry Port. The customer was experiencing damp in their property. The damp was so bad that the back of the electric box was corroded due to the water penetration. If left in its current state, this could lead to potential fire hazards.
To start with we stripped back the walls to see the damage that was caused. The ground level of the property was breaching the damp course. Tanking was then applied to walls. A render scratch coat with waterproofer was applied to the walls to prevent future damp issues. The walls were then dry lined and skimmed for a smooth finish.
As we are able to replace electrical fittings, we replaced the corroded back box with a new one. Finally, we fitted new pvc boxing to hide all the pipework.

Old Artex New Plastering in Mumbles
The team at Paul’s Plastering Llanelli were called down to Mumbles in Swansea to work with a new client in a semi-detached house.
The job involved fresh new plaster on the walls and ceiling throughout the hall, the stairs and the landing area with old artex removed and replaced with fresh plaster.
The job involved the team to take the following steps to complete the job:
- Scrape back old Artex
- ‘Blue Grit’ the walls to act as a bonding agent for the new layer of plaster
- Skim over with fresh plaster
The completion time of this job was only 5 days with the team taking extra care for the cleanliness of our work. The properties carpets was covered and the floor was protected at all times, we left the premises with no mess making sure we cleaned and tidied up after ourselves so that there was no need to clean the carpets.
The client was more than happy with the work produced by Paul and Scott, and left a very generous and kind review after the completion of the job. It was a pleasure to supply our service to a friendly client, it makes our work much more enjoyable and worthwhile.

Dry Rot In Lounge In Llanelli Property
We recently received a phone call from a worried new homeowner who bought a house in Llanelli which had dry rot.
Our team went to the property to inspect the issue and could easily see that the issue was dry rot. We provided a free quote to the customer and was given the job to remove the dry rot from the living room.
There was so much dry rot in the living room, that it spread to the original joists. We had to replace the original floor joists as the dry rot weakened them. Loughor Rising Damp Issues Solved
We recently had a call from a couple who bought a house in Loughor, South Wales which was riddled with damp problems. This is no problem for Paul’s Plastering.
